Eleven crazy hikers arrived at the meeting point in steady drizzle and chose to proceed with the hike knowing full well that rain was forecast for the entire day.
Hikers are a strange species.
Joining me were Peter Wedge, James & Corlia Wylie, Peter Rippon, Sue Rowley, Peter Comrie, Margaret Usher, Heather Anderson and two new visitors namely Sue Miller and Fabien Lemasson.
Fortunately the wild clivias were in bloom which was the main purpose of the hike.
Due to misty and slippery conditions, we decided not to go down to the top of the falls and instead we made our way back, slipping and sliding in the mud all the way down to where a very welcome cup of hot coffee was laid on by the owner of Bushwillow Park, Irvine Shaw.
The attached pics show that the 2016 annual pilgrimage to the clivias actually took place despite the weather.
