SANI STONE LODGE, LESOTHO - A trip up Sani Pass on Friday afternoon, returning Sunday. 4X4 only. Stay over at the Lodge overlooking the Sani River and 8km from the border post. Go for walks or horseriding. Alternatively hike to the highest mountain in southern Africa, Thabana Ntlenyana.

Seven hikers led by Brian Henwood. Strong winds kept the clouds and rain off the escarpment giving us a wonderful weekend.

The picture with 4 of us hikers has in the background the highest peak in southern africa, Ntabana Ntlenyana, meaning, " Nice Little Mountain " Altitude 3482m. The aim was to summit the peak, but a case of altitude sickness, blisters, and time concerns left the hikers taking the responsible action of turning back before the summit.
