A further photo report has been submitted by Keith, this for the Highmoor Mountain-Shadows Caravan Park weekend, and as you may well imagine a Caravan Park weekend for Keith doesn't imply lazing around in a caravan for the weekend - but rather includes a 600m ascent and pioneering a 14.5km future hike see the full report in Newletters February section at
Mountain-Shadows Caravan Park report.
.
Keith is asking for confirmation or otherwise of the name of the flower, River Lilies "Crinum bulbispermum", he photographed in the area. Can some flora fundi assist? If you can assist with the name mail Keith at keimarg@mweb.co.za
Following up on my last months chatter concerning the Tugela Falls being the second highest falls on the planet, I was discussing this with a colleague (not a member of MHC) who recently hiked there and while discussing the chain ladder he came up with an interesting observation which answers the question as to whether the local baboons use the chain ladders - photographic proof accompanies - thank you Mike Wells!

Don't miss the social evening at the Church of Ascension-Hilton on Tueday 20th February. Digital slide presentation on climbing Mount Kenya - see you there.
